Melissa Chappell

Occupational Therapist

Melissa graduated from James Madison University in 2010 with a Bachelors Degree in Health Sciences and in 2011 with a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy. Upon graduation, she began working in outpatient rehabilitation alongside other experienced hand therapists and quickly recognized that hand therapy combined her love for hands-on care and creative problem solving. She has focused her career specializing in the treatment and rehabilitation of upper extremity conditions both conservatively and post-operatively.

In 2019 Melissa became a Certified Hand Therapist and enjoys working with many of NEPA’s hand surgeons and orthopedic specialists. Melissa specializes in custom fabrication of both static and dynamic orthoses (splints) which can assist in protecting surgeries, decreasing pain, preventing injury, and regaining functional use of the hand and upper extremity.
